It is a most visually impressive form of cultural enthusiasm among the people of different castes. The subject of performance is the glory of divine heroes and celestial spirits. Theyyam is a form of worship where man dons the guise of God and appeases the Gods through possessed dancing.
Natyakala Dance Group
Sona Nair is a classical dancer, who was trained under eminent KalaKshetra & KalaMandalam gurus. She began her journey in dance at a very young age, with a focus in Bharatanatyam. In the pursuit of promoting Indian culture and developing the artistic talents of young children in the U.S, Sona Nair founded the Natyakala Dance Group.
